The tang stamp and pattern are a favorite of fakers.

Those blades were most likely stamped in the 80's also,if not later.

I have purchased from this seller no problems.
Is this another example of people buying a knife collection with the odd knife that is of doubtful origin trying to sell them so they don't make a loss.
You tell the story that was told to you by the person selling the collection hoping it was true.

This one will fetch a pretty penny.

The "tone" of the listing is that the knife is built from original parts but much later than the tang stamp indicates.

The tone of this thread is that the entire item is a fake. (I am not referring to the seller(s))
I wonder which is closer to the facts...

Where does one get "original parts" to assemble knives in the 1980's, such as those blades, that are fake?

There are comparison photos on AAPK, as stated above, that show this stamp beside the real one and fake knives beside authentic knives.

Wonder why I sound angry?

It's because I bought this one for top dollar a few years ago, based on Levine's printed supposition that some Pine Knot knives were made by Robeson and this looked like Robeson bone.

And yes, I'm angry at myself.

On the plus side you have a great example of a "fake" knife, and I do see value in that aspect of it.

Sometimes you are dealt Aces, and other times Eights. just what it is...

Hey that's a heck of a good looking knife even if it's fake, if you are upset over it does that mean you want to part with the knife? I would buy it for the right price. Let me know if you want to dump it.
