This sleeveboard jack marked "Heckel Hdw Co Warranted" is my latest pickup. Heckel Hardware was located in St. Louis, MO. It was incorporated in 1890. If anyone has information on this company I'd love to hear it, especially who might've made the knife.

Unique for sure.
What would you call that secondary blade? A long clip?

Thanks a lot, guys! :D

Mike, thanks for the link. Sounds like Mr. Heckel got himself into a bit of trouble. I googled the company and found this short biography on it's founder: https://books.google.com/books?id=ZtEyA ... el&f=false

Ken, I'd probably call it a secondary clip blade or a small clip, but I don't know in actuality. The blade configuration is one of the things that drew me to the knife. I don't recall seeing a jack knife with a small clip as the secondary blade before, so maybe it's uncommon. Even if it's not, I think the combination of a master spear and small secondary clip blade looks pretty good.

Dave: I forgot to mention that I concur with everyone else, that's a super looking knife. Has a real "sleek" look to it. Great find. ::nod::
