All About Pocket Knives

My choice changes daily. Usually it is a Benchmade design. I really like the Mini Skirmish a lot. I can't wait to get my hands on the new Benchmade Rukus. I have a feelink I'm going to like that one a lot.

I too like the Benchmade Skirmish and Mini-Skirmish. I am also a huge Strider fan. Striders are tough as heck and are meant to work. I consider my R. Hinderer Firetac a tactical knife, and meant to be worked.

OK...OK,

This is the only tactical folding knife I ever carry...and it HAS to be a "TACTICAL" knife 'cause it says so in the name. Mini Tactical Safety Equipment Knife.

This knife just fits my hand like no other I've picked up, and I looked for close to 2 years before I got it. Mine is actually a mutant of the ones shown...plainedge, with thumbstud...but I open it with a reverse flick...sorta like throwing a Frisbee.
P.P.S. Well I'm off to the Mall!...Just kidding! (vague reference to Tactical Mall Ninja).

You should carry that thing on a sling under an overcoat!

One of my taticals is a Benchmade mini AFCK, though sometimes I think that I should of gotten the full size AFCK. I also like the SOG flash II.

My personal preference is the Cold Steel Vaquero. It has great size and dependability. Plus it scares people, much like a smiling politician

I am a huge fan of titanium framed, framelocks. I also very much like dual themstuds/disks, as I like to be able to open my knife with either hand. I am a huge Strider fan, as well as: Rick Hinderer, Chris Reeves, DMKnives [David L. Mosier], Mission Knife & Tool, Spyderco, Tom Mayo, Buck collorborations; Buck/Mayo TNT,Combat Elite, Darrell Ralph, Don Morrow [custom slippies]..... There are so many!!

Here's my mini AFCK. Got it in '96. It's been carried and used and even sent back to Benchmade because I bent the pocket clip. I don't know what they charge now but back in '99 it was only $5.00 to have them fix it, clean it and resharpen it. Excellent job by an excellent company.

I ordered a Spyderco Civilian for a customer, and must say that I am VERY impressed! I am now in the process of adding a Spyderco Frank Centofante design to my collection, and am seriously leaning toward a Civilian for myself, also

I like a lot of different knives. One of my favorite is the Buckmaster 184 that I have one of.

I guess a survival knife is considered a tactical knife.

Here's my favorite tactical design, and I never leave home without it. This knife only has two drawbacks - 1) every time I unsheath it I lop off another finger, and 2) when I use it to open my mail at the office, people get SO put off for some reason. You'd think they never saw a knife before.

tkc, i carry papa most of the time. it is so thin and rides my right rear pocket so i don't even feel it. but i know it's there.

My everyday would be the EDI Genesis. They are becoming rare, but if you can still find one buy it. Smooth, great deep pocket clip, titun coated blade. Better than a Benchmade 800, and I own both. Thanks

Great knife TKC! I saw it on the cover of Blade and was impressed with the blade design. Rick Hinderers' XM-18 is going to be hard to get now. I heard he wasn't taking any more orders at this time.
Spanto is the name of the blade and is a spear point/tanto custom design by Rick Hinderer.

Rick isn't taking any orders right now. BUT, when he does make some for his customers, he also makes some for his authorized dealers too. That is how I was able to snap up the bright blue XM-18!! I DO have one on order too. Check Rick's website, and look at the dealer list. You might get lucky and buy one. They do not last long on dealer sites, especially since the XM-18 made the cover of Blade. If you really want an XM-18, you WILL be able to find one. I seriously just stumbled on to the blue one. about as tactical as I get, buck 296 tempest, I edc it, a great knife, the handle could stand to be a bit longer, but I have gotten used to it
