And to be objective here, I will admit there is a slight bump at the transition points where the inlay meets the horn handles. Not enough to be visually a deal breaker, but enough you would notice it by touch. They offer another stockman with a muskrat style clip (turkish ?), a congress, a baby copperhead, and a trapper. The file work is just wicked, and I've got to learn that pattern for my next TL-29 custom !

I like that file pattern myself. It can be cleaned up, and done better but what more could you ask of a 20.00 knife.

I am in awe of how they can build, and bring these to market for just a few dollars each.
We have soooo much to learn here (U.S.A.)

Then again the Chinese had a 20-30,000 year head start as a society.

Edit: It came yesterday.

I just received the RR1693 Premium Select Mini Copperhead. Unfortunately, the primary blade doesn't snap too well into fully open, and the secondary doesn't snap too well into closed. The primary DOES snap into closed and the secondary DOES snap into fully open. Neither of them have a half-lock detent. After working the blades for a day, it is a bit better, but still not great. Do any of your Premium Selects have these issues? I'm a bit disappointed, the other RR knives I bought in the same order all have great snap. I'm thinking maybe I should return this one and try again?

Welcome to AAPK. The one above had the same problem until I gave it a dose of Quick Release. That didn't completely cure the issue but it helped enough to make it tolerable. Please let us know what you decide, send it back or keep it.

Thanks Jerry...I think I'll carry my mini trapper today...autumn bone scales!

I picked this up to give as a gift. Perhaps I was a bit lucky; it checked out fine for me. I find that very few knives can achieve a perfectly smooth transition between bolster and scales. This includes many high end brands. With eyes closed it is the rare knife that succeeds in completely masking the transition. Very good knives often come close. It is a matter of degree if the knife should be returned and of course one's personal judgment.

I gave it some WD-40 love and I think it is now good enough to keep. I'm pretty sure that if I take the time to call SMKW, do the return, get a credit, etc, etc, I will probably just end-up ALSO spending another $50-60 on more knives. I think the farther I stay away from SMKW right now the better my wallet will like it!

For $20.00 or less these are perfectly capable EDC knives, and it's not so bad if you loose one...
