All About Pocket Knives

So I am going thru some of my Grandmothers remaining items, salvaged from my Mom and her bags to Goodwill. I was washing a couple kitchen tools, saved, as they are far superior to todays junk and find this.

Would anyone go so far as to call that a "hunter" or is that simply known as a butchering knife?

I am having a difficult time discerning on some of these knives.

I didnt think, till now, but this has probably killed thousands of chickens in my Grandfathers hand from Ct. to Portugal and back, many times.

Unless that isnt done, IDK cause my chicken comes in a package and anything else scares me

LOL... I'm not a hunter or a butcher. The whole idea gives me the willies.
Odd that I should be so attracted to knives!

It's difficult to get used to some hunting knives looking just like kitchen knives yet the makers call them "hunters".
In your knife I see a great skinning, and processing blade but kitchen type handles.
It's hard for me to know what knives to collect, and what to pass.

I guess Any Boker is a good knife to collect tho.

So I took a couple of pics today with my homemade sheath. I make lots of other ones too.

Good idea on Kdex sheath, it will save the edge. Great ole butcher/skinner knife , they don't get much better than a Boker. It looks like a 5 or 6 inch skinner model, great for skinning hogs or cattle. what is the copper looking rivet between the first and second rivet, it is only on one side. Terry

Appreciate the nice comments. That copper looking spot is where the Boker tree used to be. This thing is maybe 100 yrs old and they fall off just like today, including my cheap but awesome Chinese folder thats two yrs old. I think I will e-mail and try for them.
