Jane's heart surgery

My wife, Jane, scheduled her surgery for next Thursday Oct. 12 to repair a valve. It will be full open heart with a long recovery probably lasting about 3 months even if all goes well. Also I would appreciate prayer for two of my sisters, Gayle who is still battling cancer. She is having her second to the last Cemo. this Monday and the final in two weeks and should know by Nov. 1st if she is cancer free or has only a few months, and Carol who is having both knees replaced this coming Monday. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting hit from too many directions at once. Thanks in advance for your prayers. ___Dave

My Uncle passed on March 25th 2015 to throat Cancer ~ My Grandfather in 1999 my Grandmother in 1998 ~ My world stopped Immediately and I felt as lost as anyone I can Imagine could, and I still do, although I know they are still here with me in Spirit and in my Heart as if they are still alive, My Uncle chewed Red Man since he was in his early twenties they say that the Red Man was the main cause, he was only 54 years old still Young ~ it's always the ones left behind that suffer the most and it is never fair for the patient either having their lives cut short, that is why nobody should take this life for granted nobody knows how long they have left, he had a son just graduating college and a brand new baby grandson that he will never get the chance to watch grow up although luckily he was able to see him born and hold him in his arms ~ Life is a blessing and a curse in a way because we LOVE People and People Pass and we are left feeling empty and alone ~ I hope you have people in your life to help you carry on no matter the outcome ~ God Bless ~ "J"

They say that God does not burden us with anything that we can not bear but Many times this appears to be an optimistic statement.
Stay strong sir because your family needs you to. Your strength will carry them.
God bless you, and your family... My prayers are with you all.

Carol's double knee replacement went well but she is in considerable pain. She is sitting up. They almost gave her husband a sedative because he's a mess. Gayle had a allergic type reaction 10 minutes into her cemo and they had to stop and pump her full of Benadrill and some other stuff. Her face and tongue swelled way up and it was pretty scary. She doesn't know what this will do to her treatments. Several of our kids are coming home to sit with me on Thursday along with our minister. The week goes on. Thanks for all the prayers for this difficult week.___Dave

Dave,
Carol must be one tough gal! I've known several folks that did both knees at one time and it makes sense, now. You only have to rehab once, it'll be tough but then it's over. Sorry to hear of Gayle's reaction and of course we're still praying about the main event on Thursday.
God bless you, my friend.

After the pre-op was all done and the operation was all set for tomorrow morning, the hospital detected a yeast infection and it's rescheduled for the 26th so we get to go home and start all the emotional waiting all over again. It's frustrating but we left it all in God's hands and trust Him to know best. Carol is doing well and is moving to Re-hab. tomorrow and is off most all the pain meds. I haven't heard from Gayle yet concerning any plans on her Cemo. reaction either to try to continue it or stop treatment until they can figure out what is going on.___Dave

Dave,
Sorry to hear y'all have to go back into the waiting mode. At prayer meeting tonight we shared your week with our church. We did have prayer for the surgery tomorrow but as you say it's in the Lord's hands. We'll mention it again next week and then again on the 25th. I explained our knife forum friendship and how there are still some believers all across this great land.
God bless you as you wait.
Philip

Sorry to hear about the delay after your preparations. God knows best however and it's good that the doctors are being so thorough. Also, glad to hear Carol is doing well. My brother-in-law had double knee replacement about 10 years ago and has done well, if that's any encouragement for her. Continuing prayers for all.
