Mystery Buck 389

I purchased this 389 canoe on eBay several weeks ago and have seen none since. The scales are stone, possibly agate. There is no Buck shield but the blade is clearly stamped Buck 389 with a date stamp of 2012. I have several other 389's with wood or jinted bone scales and have seen plastic scales. Would this have been a special run or custom work in the after market? In the correct lighting you can see the depth and polish marks. I'm certain that this in not a plastic. Any insight would be appreciated.

Its likely agate and it looks like a hobbyist rescale to me.

Take this question and photo to the Customized Factory Knives forum, found on the home page. Someone will know.
My guess is it is a job by a stone scale craftsman that goes by the name of Redrumm on other non-AAPK forums. He is on the west coast and does lots of stone scale rehandles. Especially, 110 Bucks.
I think they are nice looking knives but have always worried about dropping one on a hard surface. 300Bucks
