Anyone ever see one of these or know anything about them? I have seen candy syripe Remingtons before but never a swithblade.

There were some contract knives made for (not by) Remington in their later years

Pretty sure it was Schrade. I don't have a catalog scan handy but here's a link to a website that has the 1940 Schrade catalog. The push button knives are near the end of the catalog: https://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us ... SCRADE.pdf

You are correct that Schrade made them. They had a couple different handle color options.

That would be George Schrade under the PRESTO brand on this knife , his brother had a company making switchblades as well under the Schrade Cutlery co. brand

Here is a display of most of the automatic models sold by Remington. They were indeed made by George Schrade on contract . To validate this notice the pullball model this style was only made by George Schrade. This can be confusing because both companys sold large and small hunters that were similar as well as 3,3/8" doubles and the fishtails but the fact is that George Schrade not only made these for Remington but also Case and other firms. LT PS Schrade Cut Co of walden also did alot of contract work but Remington automatics were not among them.
