Looks like a scout knife with rough black handles. 6445 unless it was a contract knife then there would be a zero in there.

mmmorici, I believe your knife is a Case Tested XX 6445R with rough black handles. I believe it should have a bail on the end of the knife where the screw driver blade opens. The closed length of a 6445R is 3 3/4 inches. The letter "C" in the word "CASE" in the oval shield is an open "C" (vs. a closed "C") which, in my opinion, dates your knife closer to 1940 than to 1920.

Here's one like yours but with the bale intact. A lot of old scout patterns are missing their bales because their owners removed them. How much it hurts the value is hard to say, but it doesn't help. But bales can be replaced if you want to restore it.
