I'd like to see photos of the knives with blades open and prices. I guess this topic will be moved to the advertising area?

You're not allowed to sell knives on eBay USA or not allowed to sell on eBay UK?barkz wrote:HERE IN UK WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SELL POCKET KNIVES ON EBAY. HOW DO I GO ABOUT ADVERTISING ON HERE PLEASE?

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
hi. all the knives and extra photos and prices are on etsy.
Re: knives for sale on AAPK
hi. not allowed on ebay uk
Re: knives for sale on AAPK
Just spent 20 minutes searching on etsy, couldn't find your store or any knives listed by you. Tried searching everything I could think of that applied to Sheffield pen and pocket knives. Perhaps you could post an actual link to your store on etsy? Also, you can show pics and asking prices to sell right here in this forum.

HI, STRANGE. SHOP NAME IS UKSTEELCITYVINTAGE. TYPE IN IXL KNIVES IN SEARCH I HAVE A FAIR FEW OF THEM ON SO SHOULD DEFINITELY COME UP.
Re: knives for sale on AAPK
Figured out the problem. Having a Canadian ip address, etsy only shows me sellers that ship to Canada. When I changed the preference to shippipng the US, all of your knives came up. I am a little confused, your prices show in Can$, but the site says that you do not ship to Canada?

Hi Dan
I can look in to posting if you want. Have you ever bought any pen knives from England before and if so have you ever had any problems?

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
I have not bought any knives from England. However, I have bought many from the US with no problems with them coming across the border, if that was what your concern with shipping to Canada was.

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
ETSY is a new one to me. Google is not bringing anything up. Will someone please give me a link or some advice to find ETSY.
thanks, kj
Edit: found it by goggling "UKSTEELCITYVINTAGE"
To me the most challenging part of selling vintage knives is pricing of knives not often seen on ebay.
barkz, how did you decide on these prices ? Are you allowed to sell within U.K. ? and E.U. ? or are your listings only for North American buyers ?

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
Another question: what happens when a USA buyer buys a vintage ivory handled knife from a seller in Britain ? Will USA customs allow the knife to be delivered as it is clearly vintage ? or, is all ivory banned from entering USA ?
barkz has some ivory knives listed which got me thinking about this.

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
I hope you have a few minutes, and a cool drink KJ.
It is VERY complicated.
Bottom line (I think) is the ivory has to be documented to be OVER 100 years old.
I mean DOCUMENTED!!! Not just installed on a knife at who knows what period in time.
The US has imposed an almost air tight ban on importing ivory.
Here is the best explanation I have seen. This subject has come up before... http://fitzgibbonlaw.com/understanding-ivory-law/

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
Thank you. That is a great review, comprehensive & current.
To answer my own question about shipping a vintage knife with ivory handles from Britain to USA: There is no clear answer. If opened by USA Customs most likely it would be confiscated. If you appeal & complete much documentation (if any documents exist) you might get it, but unlikely.
There is a very slight chance that the inspector at USA Customs would allow it through as these agents are allowed to use their discretion when the rules are 'fuzzy' & convoluted.

Re: knives for sale on AAPK
I believe the law is still in transition as well.
2016 was the written enforcement date but there are still challenges to the law that are keeping it "fuzzy".
Personally, I stay clear of everything Ivory when MOP is sooo much more beautiful (yet fragile). It's just my opinion.
