I think the pearl Robeson came from Charles ? His knives are always a pleasure to receive. I was going for this one hoping it might fly under the radar. Your pics show it to be a very fine example. Superb knife !

I saw that one. It's a beautiful knife. I started to bid as a speculator, but I had my sights set on other things.

What I want most dearly is a Terrier Cutlery Company Orange Blossom in that kind of condition. I've only seen one. It was in a display in Waterbury, CT in 1998.

Robeson Orange Blossoms in bone are rare, I think.

This one sold on Ebay a couple of years ago. I would have bid heavily on this knife, but a fellow AAPK member wrote me, asking about the knife before I saw it on Ebay. I didn't think I could give valid advice to him and then bid against him.

He didn't get it either.

This knife had the most fantastic bone.

Your story about not bidding because someone else showed you the listing is something i would like to see discussed.
What would be the best forum ? One that is visited by most of us.

Don't know, Roland, but I've always treated Ebay like a knife show. If I have a friend or acquaintance that is bidding on a knife, I do not bid, just as I would not interrupt a sales discussion between seller and potential buyer at a table at a knife show.

If they bow out or defer to me, as you once did on a Terrier knife, then yes, I'll bid.

I do not utilize Ebay as I would a live auction in an auction house amongst a room full of strangers.
