Buck 525 - Fake?

Hello,
Although I have little experience, I've not come across a Buck 525 with a marking like this. Makes me wonder about it's authenticity/origin. Is it real or fake/counterfeit?

Though I have not seen that scripted tang stamp before, either, there's probably not enough of a profit margin for a counterfeiter to bother with, on a sub-$50 NIB knife

That "fancy" Buck stamp seems legit. I've seen them before on a number of different knives, including 11x and 5xx series.
Here are a few random examples from old sales listings or forum posts. The internet is lousy with pics of knives with this stamp if you want to do some deep research. I believe this stamp is a remnant of the 1970s but it may still have been in use afterwards.

It's real. Although it may not have an official designation, I've heard of that style called "Script", or a Script Tang Stamp. I have two 501's that bear that very mark. Click on the photo and you can clearly see it.

Actually they're not. They are fairly common in used condition but a bit less in mint or near mint. You could probably get one with the original box and paperwork for around $60 on eBay. Both of mine came that way but I bought both from the same guy. He had two of them and sold me both.

I came across this in BladeForums from 2003:

I've still not been able to find a picture of a "scripted" 525; well, other than the one above.
Spoke too soon:

Real, not common but found on certain models for a certain time period. Called Script tang stamp. Most often seen on 500's. None on 300's.
