All About Pocket Knives

I have only seen 2 of these "Gunmetal" blued steel scaled Remingtons. I think they are very rare? This one is a R6519. Sorry about the upside down photo. Couldn't get it flipped.

Of all the knives posted. I'm most I retested to learn about this one. Never even heard about this one. Very nice.

They are listed in the books as gunmetal handle scales and have handle code 9 for metal. After looking for Remingtons and at many Remingtons over the years I was always curious about these "gunmetal" handles. I happened upon 2 of them within a month or 2 a few years ago. The other was a different model of similar size and closer to mint but lacked the nice blade etch. I have a good friend who is a very advanced Remington collector and he said he had never seen one of these. He now has the other one. The scales seem to be all steel and will stick tight to a magnet. Nice bluing just like a gun. I am sure there are a few around that have lost the bluing from wear and lack of care.

That's pretty interesting. I can't see the tang stamp. When was your knife made? Do you recall when the knife you gave your friend was made?

I picked up a gunmetal blue lobster this weekend. Felt like it was a hard to come by knife.
