I read about this knife and heard it was discontinued but SMKW emailed me it was back in stock so I ordered one. It came yesterday and I think I'm going to really like it. The edge is ground for Whittling right out of the box. I'll report more when I get a chance to put some wood to it.

Neat knife. I bought one some years ago but have never used it.

Heck, I thought those were gone for good!

Funny thing is I just picked up a couple from the bay about a month back.
Knocked the edge angle down as far as the Lansky would go and it's nice and sharp now.
Next I'm going to round off the handle a bit.

That's the nice part about the price on those; you can fix anything that you don't like without feeling too bad about it.

After using this knife a bit I have to say it has a couple of issues I don't care for. The handle is too thin for me to be comfortable for long periods of use. The blades are fairly thick, too, which makes it less than ideal; I would've thought that one blade would be thinner for more detail work and one thicker for roughing out.

The up-side of the overall thin profile does make it easier to carry with me. And if I take both it and my RR375 I can really do about anything I might want to.

It is a whittler pattern with spear, pen and coping blades. That one I really like.

Thanks for letting us know what you think after using it a bit. Interesting blade choices on that knife and it looks good.

I'm happy to be able to contribute (even though it's just a wee bit) back to this wonderfully helpful group anytime I can. ::tu::
