All About Pocket Knives

Hi all,

I purchased these from a fellow Bulldog enthusiast and AAPK contributor. I must say I was leery about the whole thing because of the many horror stories I had heard about them (celluloid’s) over the years. Man was I missing out!

This is some of the most awesome handle material I've seen! These pictures don't come close to revealing the depth and color in these scales. Every angle brings out a new color like a prism.

The modified razor styled blade really compliments this Stockman; it’s a set of four with all the “cards.” To top it all off, they are 1 of 1s.

Thats a great full set to have, the celluloid is fabulous, and I really like the exaggerated shapes of all three blades.

Gary those knives are awesome. I don't have any because I was told you have to keep them separate from your other knives. Apparently related to gases given off. Is that true, or just with old knives?

So you went and joined the celluloid club.
To be a member you have to be totally aware of all the horror stories and still can't resist the pull.
After seeing those knives, who can?

Some of the guys in our club has been having trouble with the newer Winchester celluloid when left in the box. They started to store them out of the box and have done better.

I may be wrong but I 'm starting to get the impression that EDC is the best thing for celluloid, and that's what I'm doing with mine.

Wow, those are fantastic Gary. I have always been a big fan of that particular style from Bulldog, a very impressive set....

I believe some of those are Hummingbird Feather, VERY NICE set.

Jim, I don't know the answer to that. Good question! You would think after years of having trouble with that material they would have worked out the bugs!

Almost everyone I know really likes this pattern and Bulldog only made it in 1995, last year of the third generation. I have seen this same pattern/configuration made by Fightn' Rooster. (actually just saw the photo posted here about a year or so ago). I don't recall when Fightn' Rooster had theirs made. Fightn' Rooster and Bulldog share the same factory and I don't remember who made one first.

Damn, I got a bunch of I don't remember's in there. Not my strong point.
