All About Pocket Knives

Here's a Queen City jack that probably dates to the late 1930's. Has the QUEEN CITY block tang stamp and measures 3 3/8".
It's the predecessor to the Queen #69 Straight Jack pictured with it. For comparison, I've also posted a pic of its big brother, the Queen #18 Heavy Jack. The #18 measures 3 11/16".

Can you post a pic?

As a general rule, the script dates 1940-45. There were two script stamps. A large and a small.

I believe it's similar to the stamp on the left.

That old Queen City Jack has some pretty bone! What about the handles on this one? Is this jigging considered to be Winterbottom? Looks like the grooves have additional jig marks in them.

They are early Winterbottom.

Very nice example. Full blades and the handles are in great shape. I find it amazing how well Queen made these knives. Of the examples I've seen, no matter how beat up they were, they still can be carried and used.
