"off shore" is the way a lot of companies are tiptoeing around there products not being made in the USA

Schrade filed for bankruptcy in 2004. Their assets were bought by Taylor Brands Cutlery. All Schrades are now made overseas. I'm not positive but I have read that the warrenties on the Usa ones are now void. (But I'm not positive on that). You still can find some old stock through some dealers.

Schrade branded knives ( e.g. Uncle Henry...Old Timer...and others ) are now mostly produced in China for Taylor LLC, as mentioned. A few models of older stampings ( Schrade Walden for one ) are being made by Bear and Son in Alabama.
Most folks would consider them "Reproductions" as far as being collectible knives.

I heard there are some made in USA Schrades coming out soon. Lets hope this is true.

I saw the first of the new American made Schrade knives on the Smokey Mountain Knifeworks broadcast yesterday. It was a jumbo trapper like the Remington bullets or the new Great Easterns. I forget the blade steel. The tangstamp also has Taylor Cutlery on it. It had bone scales as well.

More news on the new American made Schrade. According to the guys on the SMKW broadcast, they were made in the GEC factory for Taylor. Gotta admit they sure look it.
