Peach seed jigged bone.

I have seen this beautifully jigged bone on Ulsters, Schrade Cut Cos and Waldens, and various Schrade-made contract knives, such as this Maher & Grosh. Can anyone tell me where it originated, and the time periods when it was used? Also, does color have a significance re: the time periods? Some is dark, and some light.

I, too, am a fan of the peach seed bone. My reply is based on general knowledge and impressions. I believe LT will be able to give us a more precise and accurate readout on this beautiful handle.
I believe that the lighter color material comes from the Schrade Cut Co era of 1904 up to about 1918, WW1. The darker bone may overlap that some but runs up until the sale, or takeover by Imperial in 1973. It is my opinion that any peachseed from after that time just represents stock on hand that was used until expended. There is an "old" peachseed jigging and a "new" peachseed jigging but I have not gotten enough info on that to even try to describe it.
Maybe LT will come in and rescue me on these points.
