All About Pocket Knives

I am not sure where I should ask about this...
I was just looking and found this a bout Zero Tolerance knives.
Thought I share it with you all.
Am I confused with this or is the company also called Zero Tolerance??

hey ken the company is kai. zero tollerance is a knife line in their catalog.

I don't know. But to me Zero Tolerance is a sales ploy as it is impossible to bulid anything with zero tolerance - just a name, I think.
Everything we make, a folder lets say has tolerances, a .125 pin (1/8 inch) may be .125 +/-.004. The tolerance is that the pin can be .121 to .129 and still be in spec. or usable. Tolerance is a window in which a part is acceptable. Zero Tolerance to me would mean .125 +/-0.

But, I'm sure Zero Tolerance has a different meaning to Ken Onion and Strider Knives. I just know what it means to me.

Or lately around here Zero Tolerance means doing 61 in a 60MPH means you WILL get a ticket.

Yeah It can mean a lot of things but it's a knife line, I suspect they are saying it's a knife with attitude.

It is an odd/ironic choice of names being that the policy that forbids childern from bringing weapons to school is usually referred to as a Zero Tolerance Policy.

Whether those policies are over-applied or not, I think we can all agree that a student shouldn't be bringing a Zero Tolerance knife to school.

It seems a name change has taken place. Here is the way it currently reads. Zero tolerance is just as real as slim senator.

That clears it up for me....

Apparently ZT is a branch of Kai Cutlery, the same as Kershaw.

Kai made the knives for Pete Kershaw, until the mid to late 1980's when Kai bought Pete Kershaw out. Pete continued to work for them (I used to see him in there often, even after Kai bought Kershaw), as far as I know he is still working for them, unless he has retired.

YUP PERS old vet it sure helped me.

You can see why one like me (not so smart) had a hard time with this one.

Thanks to AAPK I now under stand this knife.

She is a biggen but cost to much.

If I was lost in the woods she is one to have for sure....

This is a solid knife and I have been EDCing it for the last week.
I really like it. It is a very useful blade shape. The price is a lot lower than the ZT. You might give it a try.
