Not many folk collect the fixies from Schrade so I thought it would facilitate searches if they were all (more or less) in one thread easily seen. ? I like many (not all) of them, so I will post one pic of one that is (hopefully) coming to me in the mail.

That's a good looking knife. Original box and paperwork too. Very nice Cal...

Okie-Dokie. Here are two of my favorite Uncle Henrys.

I love them all, at least so far. There is one fixed blade pattern I don't like, but I won't tell you what it is, because I may be the only person in the world who doesn't like them. And this one is not it:

When the Baers acquired Schrade they did something that their ancestor, Schrade Cutlery Company NEVER did; they started making fixed blades. One pattern, the 147 assumed before long many variations. It is an old tried and true grind, great for hunting, and may have been an attempted competitor to the Western Boulder 66. As time went on, it evolved into the 497 and finally the 165OT. Here is one that you might love or hate. Does it look a little like a famous mime?

Always did like that candy striped version of the 147.
I believe Marcel's costume was black w/white stripes or vise-a-versa depending on your perspective.

That is super Cal, do you know how many hrs it took him to do that? Here is one marked Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A It is a shroud knife. It was stated that it came from Schrade factory after closing. It was also stated that ir was a prototype. It is the only one I have seen. Monte

Monte, that is an unusual knife. It is quite unfamiliar to me. Sorry to be tardy here; trying to keep this alive. Here is a low-number 165OT Schrade Walden that had some pitting. I asked HW to rehaft it in white bone, no fancy stuff; I am very pleased.

Very impressive Cal. Usually I am not drawn to white bone. But that one looks great!

I guess you could call this a schrade. Imperial knife M-7S survival knife, nylon sheath, black comp. handles and all the goodies you need to survive. 1985 production according to the box. Another yard sale score.

A few years back I bought a representative sample of the Safe T Grip knives, and the only ones I have used are the fillet knives, which I like. I have some in different colors, blade lengths, etc., and they are all in my kitchen. A good thin blade is very useful for more culinary tasks than just fish. This picture is just one that I found; they are not my knives.

Ive handled one of those saf t grip knives, they are very ergonomic and can be had cheaply

I own one of the saf t grip hunters like in the picture. I use it a lot when camping, it has a good feel in the hand. I also do a lot of salt water fishing, now thinking about getting one of the fillet knives.

This is the only Schrade fixie I have, a recent acquirement. Mint (a term I don't use lightly) serialized 153UH Golden Spike.

Use to have one just like it I purchased new back in the 80s, and was always on my hip when I went to the woods. Unfortunately someone got into my truck and stole it a few years back.

I have a few of the Safe T Grip knives in green and one blue handled 141 Outfitter. Schrade made some great practical using knives. I like the X-Timers too. Especially the drop point XT2B and the big XT1B camp knife. I never saw me using the XT3B Fatboy Skinner, but I picked one up cheap anyway. Not purdy, but I like the grips on them and their usefulness. I wouldn't mind if the blades weren't painted black. The camp knife and blue Outfitter knives stay in my truck.

Here's two of my favorite fixed blade pattern of all time. One is a second revision with change to the sheath strap from pointed tip to round, and the other is one of the last revisions, with half serif font and strap change. I'll eventually get my hands on other revisions, but this is what I have for now.

I haven’t seen one of these posted here yet: a Schrade Bowie.

I got this and trade from Doug at the Oregon show. They are not really common and I don’t know that they were ever in the catalog except for special issues. I think they were mainly used as SFOs. This one came in a white box that was marked: “NRA 1996.” Actually the handwriting is hard to read it’s either 1996 or 1976, I think 96 is more accurate.

The Bowies were not tang stamp because they were generally etched with whatever they were commemorating or etched for the company ordering them.
This knife was unetched, a blank canvas so to speak.
It’s a nice knife and it’s pretty good-sized but not too big to use, unlike some Bowies.
Here is a shot of the Schrade Bowie in my hand, good sized but not huge and unwieldy.

If the sheath is original, I'd lean more towards 1976, due to the single strap style being like the first two revisions of the Sharpfinger sheath. Mine being the second revision sheath, it would put it in the same date range of 1976.
