That question has come up a few times before, here's an old thread that may help.

El Lobo,

You got the Power make this happen?
I noticed a couple of weeks ago there is not an example in the Case Section in the "Articles & Research" area.

Hmmmmm ::hmm:: ...

That might be proprietary to the Case website.

However, Bryan old buddy...if you see this, maybe you could ask Shirley if we could add it to the Research section...as the "first Striped One" has suggested. ::nod::

Everyone needs to keep in mind that the "new" Rogers bone that Case started making themselves in the 80's up through now looks nothing like "real" Rogers bone.

At a recent knife show I spent some time talking to Bob W? who is running for treasurer of NKCA. He had a lot of pre XX Case knives and showed me some Rogers Bone that was entirely different from the newer Rogers Bone that I had seen. He also showed me Winterbottom, 2nd Cut Stag and a knife with a 3/4 marked blade instead of 1/2. Very educational. There is so much to learn in this knife business.

OK boys,

Don't get me wrong here, as I was only posting what was on the Case website, based on the question.
We all know that bone actually produced by the Rogers Company, looks different than todays "Rogers Bone"...but I was just trying to help. ::nod::

Who knows what the poster really wanted to see??

Bill
P.S. Good input as always...in CASE that came across poorly. ::doh::

It would be interesting if someone could post pictures of both old and new Rogers Bone. I know I have a tough time identifying it given the things I've been told by different knife people.

Here are a couple of old Roger's Bone Knives. Photo and knife credit to my friend Mark Nagle, who takes a 'mean' photo. :D :D

Tom, if you'll click on this thread you can see rogers bone of every description.

Paladin, beautiful knives, but I don't think the trapper is rogers bone

Thanks B-R,
The early Rogers bone that you and stockman have posted on that thread is what I was shown at the knife show by Bob Wurzelbacher. I like the colors that are in that bone. Why can't that be made today? At least I don't see it.

Tom, you are welcome. I think rogers bone is beautiful too, they don't make 'em like they used to. When you see Bob Wurzelbacher again tell him Gary says hello, he's a good friend of mine.
Take Care
