GEC 18 mod

This little 18 is one of my favorite knives to carry. However, I was getting bored with the micarta covers. I decided to mod it.

Looks great, Glen! What is the handle material (some kind of acrylic I presume?) and where did you get it? How difficult is it to work with?

Yep, Tony you are likely correct in that, never thought of that possiblity. If that is the case likely fairly expensive and delicate to work with?

Actually, it's yes to both. It is genuine abalone, but with an acrylic coating on it. It's not awfully expensive, easy to work with, but don't heat it too much, it will warp.
