Based on the design, it looks to be a very nice little ladies' pen knife. Are the scales mother of pearl?

Goins book lists Northfield Knife Co 1858-1919. I don't have specific knowledge of this knife but, in general, aluminium was very costly to produce up until the last decade or so of the 1800s. It was more costly than silver. If I was to hypothesise, I would say very late 1800s or early 1900s pre WW1. Perhaps someone with specific knowledge of this company will enlighten us further.

Hey Bruce, When you gonna show us some pics of your knives. The one you had at the Queen show with the blade forged out of cable was very nice. If you did'nt sell it the folks around here would love to see it. Thanks, Mike
