All About Pocket Knives

Hi members,

my girlfriend told me that I have to sell some knives of my collection because there far too many so far in her opinion

So I need some help to decide...I can only keep one of these:

Boker / Germany 112011V Violeta wood

Kershaw 1040 Folding Field II Sandalwood

Al Mar Sere Attack 3002 Green Micarta

Kershaw 1050 Folding Field Phenolic

PUMA Universal-Jagdmesser 959 Stag

Which one would you keep and why?

I'm gonna say the Al Mar, just because it is the only one I am familiar with.

I agree with Marc.
If you cave now to demands as the g/f Lord help ya if she's becomes your spouse.
Particularly if you were collecting knives before you 2 started dating.
It's not a knife issue, it's a CONTROL issue!
Avoid the Christmas rush, kick her to the Curb NOW...... and see if she comes back!
After all, what are you, a knife collector or a mouse?!?!
..........or buy her a bubba gum lady case, see if that shuts her up...for ten minutes!
Looks like a Bubba gum will match her nail polish.
btw, one of the watches is fast or slow.

I assume your a reasonably young man. I'm a "seasoned citizen" of 62 years. My advice is, keep all of your knives. Tell her what you're going to do. If she leaves because of your decision, that speaks volumes, my friend. Trust me on this. Cave in now, and you will forever be under her thumb.

Of course, some men like the domination thing....but....well....I won't go there.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, it was hard enough to find a girlfriend who accepted my job beeing a dive instructor and not at home too often

Well in that case, rescue the Al Mar. Might be the hardest one to replace if you ever regretted getting rid of it and decided you wanted it back

I'd keep the knives, I guess I have 5 or 600 more or less, likely more. I actually don't know. She wouldn't ask me to sell them. I do have some customs that I will sell eventually.

I'm also selling an L. C. Smith 12 Gauge shotgun made in 1907 by it's serial number 156xxx. Also up for sale is a WWII 1943 M1 Carbine Saginaw Grand Rapids with the highwood stock, still in shooting condition (rarest WWII M1 Carbine by the way, but never issued on the field, not marked as such anyway). Also a couple .22's, a 1913 Savage that I paid $95.00 to get a 5 shot magazine on auctionarms.com. Odd configuration--a clip with a slide action, a .22 Remington 1912 Target grade, slide action and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head.

The L C Smith has external hammers, very good shape for 100 years old, also in shooting condition. I need to have them appraised, even though the LC smith is over a 100 years, it may bring well over a $1000.00.

I have them locked in a gunsafe and would like someone who appreciates what they are to have them. Also, more knife storage.

Ah, er, back to knives. I must have been distracted by the br...er watches, that it.

Rescue 911, I'd tell the girl friend to take a hike. I've been there, done that with my first marriage of eighteen miserable years. I don't want to sound like Dear Abbey, but if she's putting you through that now, it will get a lot worse. My advise is dump the *%&#@, and marry a gal from Kentucky! They rarely complain. Can actually cook good food, and keep a clean house. And they like KNIVES!
