Lovely ivory pen (quill) knife with the tang stamped-
SMITH
KING
WILLIAM ST.
CITY
I picked this one up in the Portobello Rd. London, so I guess City is 'The City', as the financial district is called and Smith the name of the seller(?), a Tobacconist or perhaps a Stationer. Anyone?
It may have have been used a couple of times but never sharpened. About US.$7.50, airfares are a killer though!

Nice little knife and great find for the price. A quick search revealed nothing definitive. Perhaps sold by W.H. Smith... I believe there is a branch in the City.

You're welcome John. It is just a working hypothesis at the moment.
