All About Pocket Knives

I have said in earlier posts that I bought a box of stag handled knives.
I’ve just got around to photographing a few more for posting.
This a navy knife with a thick blade for hitting while chopping thick rope. It is a single blunt ended bladed knife with Harrison Bros & Howson stamped on the tang. There is not a stamp for the British Army or Navy. Its 8.75 inches long when open and 5 inches folded.

Super Knife ! Great bit of history here. How times have changed in the last ~ 150 years, Rope knives replaced by I-pods.

Beautiful knife. Love the stag. The pattern was utilised in the British Navy later 1800s to early 1900s. A repinned blade was very common on these. As you mentioned, the blade was hit on the spine to chop rope which eventually displaced the blade from the frame.
