Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place, I could not find a Mercator section to post in.
I recently was given this knife by a friend and I began trying to find out a little info on it but outside of finding one that was for sale on eBay I cant find out anything. It has the Mercator logo with the K55K stamp and the other side has Solingen, Germany.
Does anyone know any info on this knife? Anything would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Wow, that is the first fixed blade Mercator I have seen!
I posted a video on Mercator in the video section.
Mostly Mercator is known for simple lock blade knives. They are made in Germany.

It definitely has me stumped. I also didn't know they made fixed blade knives. When you do a search you find tons of the lockback info but nothing on fixed blades. I emailed the company so maybe they can shed some light on the subject.

Never seen one before. However it reminds me of the kind of knives made in Germany by Linder Cutlery. They made knives for many companies.

The blade is 4 7/8" and overall length of 9 5/8". It is in a Western Cutlery sheath. The sheath does fit the knife perfectly but can't say for sure if it came this way or the sheath just happened to fit it as a replacement.

I'd bed the Western is a replacement. My one (unknown model #) Western fixed-blade has very similar dimensions and the blade profile is close enough that I'd expect your Mercator to fit the sheath.
Thanks for sharing it, though I'm sorry you seem to have stumped everybody!
