All About Pocket Knives

I'm still ploughing my way through my box of stag knives and thought these might interest some of you. I've cleaned them up yet and its only light rust.
They are both stamped I. Sorby Sheffield and I believe that the I actually refers to John? I've been wrong before and I suspect I'll be wrong again!
They are both about 3 1/4" long closed and the blades are just 3". One is slightly different in that the race end is fully enclosed.

Two BEAUTIFUL old rase knives! The stag is magnificent! And yes the I is for John.It is a carryover from old alphabets that did not have a J in them.I bought a book on old alphabets once dating back to about the 8th century and it is amazing how letters have evolved over time.As a semi-retired sign artist things like this interest me. Great score!
