Keep an eye on this one

The combination of 4H and FFA must have created a huge demand for this. Maybe a Christmas gift? Maybe not a common knife but it is bringing big money. I'll bet the seller - Sally is a happy gal when the bidding ends.

Moderators edit: For the sake of posterity, the knife ended up selling for $469.00

I see several of these 4H/FFA CO-OP commemoratives from different years on eBay. Apparently Case does one annually. Maybe the knife in the OP was the first year.
Either way, a commemorative that is tied to two time-honored institutions for kids has to be a winner!

It's the standard long spey used on a trapper. It's stuck down in the foam of the display case in that first pic.

That is a unreal price for that knife IMHO.

I'd even go so far as to say anyone with an interest in the organizations represented could go to 10% of the selling price without being ripped off.
But that bid price?
Silver lining: There are at least a few people enjoying our hobby for whom money really is no object.

I believe that Tennessee Farmers CO-OP has these made each year from Case. I saw a bunch of these knives while visiting a buyer for Tennessee Farmers CO-OP. He had each year displayed sitting around on his desk. I did a quick ebay search and found this one without the box for $801.00.
The proceeds of the original sales of these knives go the the FFA and 4-H organizations.

Phil of course my original post was in jest but yours prompted me to get the knife out and look it over. It's actually a pretty good looking knife and hey everyone our age needs one piece of Elvis memorabilia. Plus I have always been intrigued with the 6240 so here it is.
