Prayer for Jamie

I got a call this evening from my son Isaac. Isaac is the crane operator at the metal scrap recycling yard in Hermiston Oregon.
Jamie is one of my son’s coworkers and today he was crushed today between big Case loader and a semi truck. The truck driver was backing the Case loader up to the truck so they could jumpstart the semi. Jamie was directing him backing up. Jamie signaled the driver that he was close enough and that he could stop. As Jamie bent over to pick up the cables the drivers foot slipped off the brake and on to the gas crushing Jamie between the two vehicles.

My son was one of the first people over to see Jamie when he started yelling, the other was Jamie’s wife who works in the yard office. It was pretty traumatic for both of them!

Jamie was life-flighted to the nearest hospital that could handle his injuries. He has a crushed pelvis, a lot of internal bleeding and damage to several internal organs. Please keep him in your prayers for miraculous recovery. Also pray that the miraculous recovery will be a testimony of God’s grace and love to the whole community.

So sad to hear, Dale. Praying the Lord will bless Jamie with a full recovery. Praying for the doctors and nurses to have the skills needed for such a tragedy and also praying for all those involved at the work site and their families. So often many people are brought closer to the Lord by such happenings.

I will update you on Jamie situation as best I can.
Jamie had surgery to repair his pelvis on Friday. My son said they told him the pelvis had been sheared.
I'm not exactly sure what that means unless maybe there was a shearing action when the equipment came together.
I got a quick update from my son this morning who said Jamie is doing good and that the surgery went well.

Thank you all for your prayers, and keep them coming, I'm sure he's not out of the woods yet.

I spoke with my son tonight and Jamie is doing pretty good.
His wife said they had him up today and in a wheelchair, this is a big step because it gets him out of bed and mobile.

Thank you for your prayers and praise the Lord for his grace to answer them!
