Glad to see "Baker Hamilton & Pacific Co." mentioned.
One of the first old folders I ever obtained was a Baker stag sowbelly. Paid $10.00 for it at the Glendale Ca. monthly antique meet.
I posted some pretty good information on Baker history below from Knife Worlds Sept.1992 "What Izzit" by Bernard Levine.

Harold that is indeed a beauty! I have a soft spot in my heart for those old cocobello or ebony Jacks and that one is special.

Another mark used by Baker Hamilton and Pacific Hardware was Stiletto. This hobo is tang stamped and etched Stiletto.

Roger the one I posted is also etched Stiletto, but very weak.

A goal for 2019 is to get my knife documentation better organized. I'm hoping someone might be able to identify who made this Pacific Hdwe large cigar cattle knife. It is 4 1/8" closed. Blade tangs are marked "PACIFIC HDWE & STEEL CO" with pattern number 3451. There is a faint "STILETTO" blade etch. The back of the sheepsfoot tang is marked "OIL THE JOINTS". The spey blade has "FOR FLESH ONLY" etched on it and this is probably the earliest knife where I have seen this. I have been able to collect some good documentation, but can't find anything definitive on the maker. I think the knife dates from around 1900 and my guess for maker is Napanoch.

I would be very grateful for any insights or opinions.

Jerry, that is a fine old knife. Nice documentation so far.
What a nice dramatic shield it has. And it has some etch left on the blade.
I hope someone has some other thoughts on the manufacturer. I like the Napanoch connection.

Jerry,that is some fine knife.You can narrow your search but figuring out who made a 4 1/8" cigar.Most manufacturer's wouldn't make both a 4 1/8 and 4 1/4.

Today I came across a Baker, Hamilton & Pacific Company, General Catalog No 7. It looks to be published in 1920 or maybe a little earlier. It included a few of the knives posted here. Unfortunately no indication who was making their knives for them. Just that they are “manufactured in one of the oldest and largest pocket cutlery factories in the United States. Here are a few pictures:
