I'm sure you will all agree that there is nothing at all correct about this awful fake POS...supposedly a Case XX C61050 SAB green bone. Gawd what are these counterfeiters thinking?

No, no, EVERYTHING about that knife is FAKE. Even the wood that it leans up against is faux wood made of plastic.

OK I'll take it off your hands for $20. I'll throw in a dollar for the plastic fake wood. ::tu:: A man of your reputation shouldn't be seen within 500 miles of such a horrible fake. ::nod::

Okay, I'm all ears and eyes ::shrug:: . I got the "Book" down, pulled my only C61050SAB, (XX/USA Pakkawood) can't see anything yet. Nail nicks, there are several shown, the shield looks correct, handle pins, bolsters, hope to learn somethin' here. ::nod::

Nice try Steve.

Stand by my initial assessment. No books on me and a bit rusty. But I know CASE XX green bone when I see it. Not common knife either. I suspect knife is pretty scarce. Never seen a green bone cheetah in XX but I have a few other patterns.

My guess is some non knowledgeable buyer said as you stated to get a deal or just has no clue what a real CASE knife looks like. Likely a "bingo" on that assessment is my guess.

Steve, I remember this knife from your eBay store last week. It sold pretty fast because I was watching it. I don't recall seeing another green bone XX 050. The red and chestnut variations in XX seem more common. So my guess is the buyer wasn't happy with their purchase.

I hadn't thought of that possibility Jerry. Just figured ol Steve was messing with us again, hence my sarcastic response. If there is anything wrong with the knife I don't see what it could be - it will sure be a surprise to me.

Sooner or later he will enlighten us.

Did the person who bought it say it is fake? I am a bit puzzled by this thread. That knife looks good to me, but I sure will not argue with the man who wrote the book!

I personally wouldn't buy a knife like this, even if it had a book behind it, but would like to know why it's a miserable fake. ::shrug::

I'm afraid that Steve has already disposed of this terrible POS knife. He threw it in the bay where it belongs.

A knife like this could only improve the water quality in the polluted bay.

Let me list all of the issues with this terrible fake knife.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

That just about sums it up.

This is like waiting on "Paul Harvey and the rest of the story", only a longer wait! I've checked this thread several times a day, hoping for some closure. In fact I still have "the book" opened and my C61050SAB sittin' by my computer ::mdm:: .

I must be dumb or needing an ophthalmologist appointment because if Steve says that's an across-the-room fake then my brain or my eyesight has gotta be going...

Like you said, though, he wrote the book! ::shrug::

Well, I got the knife returned today. My goodness how did I ever fall for such a monstrosity!! Not only is the blade a fake, its not even made of real steel!! Even the steel is fake!! The bolsters are made of fake nickel silver!!! The liners are made of fake brass!! In fact the knife does not even actually exist, its a hologram!!!

Well Steve every now and then, just when we think we are at the top of our game, along comes a superior intellect to set us straight.

Unfortunately when dealing with eBay these Mensa plus authorities will come along and set us straight and even when wrong the customer is always right.

He gave up a righteous knife in the process.

I hate to say it but this thread is stupid.......there's no info on how it's fake, just that it is.

I agree with the other guys who agree there's nothing they can see wrong.
Me.....I don't know jack squat about knives, especially CASE, but it is very, very annoying to have claims made that
aren't backed up.

Not a fake but a very nice knife. A lot of irony in this thread but the most irony is a buyer that returns such a fine knife trying to teach Steve a thing or two. He gave up a very nice knife.
