Picked up this little CRKT Neck knife from the AAPK BLADES KNIFE

STORE, before my last camping trip. It turned out to be a very handy

little Cutter. Here are the Stats.

Pat Crawford designed the Triumph N.E.C.K. (No-nonsense Emergency Compact Knife). This knife features a Black 2.75 inch blade made from 3Cr13 stainless steel. The full tang knife wrapped with a Olive Drab cord-wrapped handle, designed with a recurved dual-grind Tanto, plain edge, and black non-reflective EDP finish comes complete with a custom Kydex sheath with a patented quick-release belt-mounting system. The sheath can also be carried as a neck knife with a chain (not included).

What did you find it handy for when camping?

I'm sure some would say "You can't use a recurve double grind tanto camping!"

Glad you like the knife! You hear a lot of complaints about CRKT, but I have a Crawford/Kaspar folder...its a solid useable knife that I got at a reasonable price.

i'have meet him 2 or 3 times during french knive shows "SICAC". he is very frendly.

marcinek; You are right! Many people do dislike CRKT Knives, mainly

I think due to the type of steels they employ. I have several friends who

are active military and they all seem to Love CRKT Knives. As a matter of

fact I read once that CRKT Knives are the Number One selling brand at

all the Military Base Stores.

My youngest brother has a friend who has a relative that gets him a whopping discount on just about everything that CRKT makes. It goes 50% of 50% - a few dollars off wholesale. Works out that he pays about a buck for every $6 or $7 dollars of retail. Some day, I may have to pick up a couple good knives from him, but I really don't follow CRKT much. I guess that works out to about $15 for every $100.

I like his work too, stan! It must have been nice to meet him.

Have you gotten the 2007 CRKT catalog, Mitch? They seem to be getting away from the 420J2 and AUS-6 that everybody hates so much.

My Crawford/Kaspar is in 420J2. Its not horrible...its not great either. But it really is a beater knife, by design.

No I haven't seen their 2007 catalog. To tell you the truth this is only

my 3rd CRKT Knife that I own. I bought it because it is such a Cool

Crawford design at a really great price.

I'm agree with you : the CRKT offer an excellent ratio price/quality.
One of my favorite is the PAL designed by Ron Lake. AUS8 blade, lock by piston.

I have several Emerson Knives and they are one of my favorite

brands for a heavy duty tactical folders. They are all built tough to last!

Here are my two favorite Emerson models I EDC all the time

I have several CRKT knives.
Their Sawtooth is a great camp knife. I carry it in our motor home. What a bargan for $19.95!
I also have the Desert Cruiser, which, while a bit large for EDC, is one of the most comfortable knives I own.
I love the M-16 & EDCed it for a long time.

Don't get me wrong MITCH...Emersons are very cool across the board! I really likne that folding bowie (and the karambits...and the LaGriffe)

Just don't need a heavy duty tactical folder.

Want one!.....Just don't need one.

i like customs from emerson.

Right now, I only have one CRKT (A fixed blade). An Ultima, blade CE 5" blade with the new "Zeff" serrations.

I did have a Starlight & am still kicking myself for getting rid of it. They seem to provide very good designs. Unfortunately, their blade steel could be better.

I also used to have a Polkowske/Casper companion. Not a bad knife & when they were being discontiued, you could pick them for about $20. I actually got mine from someone, NIB for $12!
