Braiding lanyards.

I have an old friend in California who has forgotten more about "man stuff" than I'll ever know. We were talking on the phone a couple of weeks ago and I asked him if he'd send me a piece of leather braided for a lanyard on a Remington R-1306 Tracker. The way he does it is really cool looking when it's finished and on the knife. I figured if he sent it to me, I could take it apart and see how it was done. PIECE OF CAKE! Nothing to it once you see how it's done. He sent me some nice leather strips he cut off an old discarded leather recliner that work perfectly. I'll take some photos and post them if any of you are interested. I was jazzed....but.... this might be old hat to a lot of you guys. I sure get all worked up when I learn something new.

I'd like to see that as well. Give us a little tutorial if you have the time.

Yep,....I'd be happy to photograph a tutorial on the subject. But at the moment, I'm in Seattle typing this on a lap top. My first time on one and it just ain't my cup O' tea, fer shore! We're headed back to the mountains of Idaho on Sunday and I'll post the tutorial then. I had my son-in-law hook me up with his lap top so I could check in, but it's real case of "old dog, new trick" syndrome.

I'll check back in on Sunday.

After giving it a little thought, I suppose this should be posted on the "tutorial" forum....so go there and take a look.
