Hello All, glad to be here for sure. I have always liked knives, albeit usually the single blade hunters, and kept only a small few for utilitarian purposes. HOWEVER, an aquaintance just recently had a yard sale and sold some of her dads collection, lucky for me, I think. I bought close to 200, all of various brands and quality and styles. I know there are some gems, and some not so much, but as Don Corleone says, "it was a deal I couldn't refuse". Even with my limited knowledge, which has been added to immensely from this site, I know a bargain. So, I have to make some decisions about where I really want to go, I have other hobbies, Shooting and Amateur radio and even though I do appreciate these knives for their beauty and workmanship, I don't know if I really have room in my life or brain for it. When I figure out how to get pictures posted, I will get some up and join in more. Seems like a great bunch of folks, Thanks.

Welcome to AAPK! Your pictures remind me of my knife pile.

Try to keep most of it better organized though, but some of it not so much.
I'm familiar with your area. I've got kinfolks all around there from Bartlesville to Miami Ok, Joplin and Springfield MO, and Pittsburg KS area. Spent a lot of time running around the chat piles when I was growing up, and canoeing and fishing on Spring, Neosho, Elk and Illinois rivers.

We're about 100 miles south of Pittsburgh, mumbleypeg, but right area, know the chat piles well. I have already learned a lot, and thanks to the tang charts, got most dated approximately. Still a lot to learn, and yes some very interesting ones, I know there were some I passed on due to ignorance though.

Thanks treefarmer, carmillus. The more I look around, the more I like, have started going through some old boxes now, I may have come down with some sort of sickness!
