All About Pocket Knives

Today I bought what has to be my nicest example yet of an early 112, having the segua scales. The knife came complete with box, papers and early low-slung sheath.

Judging from the looks of the sheath, the knife was carried long ago but, has light verdi gris from sitting in the leather for a good many years. This is likely a 1972 vintage 112. I have a two other segua 112s, but this has by far the prettiest grain. It will clean up well.

It came in a lot of other knives (cheap!) including a '50s era boy scout knife, an Italian switchblade, and a few other interesting knives.

Since it was carried early in its life, I'll clean off the verdi gris.

I don't know why I keep gatherin' up 112s from hither and yon'...
I suppose it's partly due to a little nostalgia for my youth.

I don't imagine there any any other nostalgic types out there, huh? Ha, ha!

NOSTALGIC nah just the most versatile knife on earth

Nothing wrong with nostalgia, makes the heart pine for the good old days (of course I still have some good new days!) I just have a thing for Bucks, especially those with 440 and 425 stainless steel blades. I was putting my hunting pack back in order (season opens on October 1st) - first two knives in the pack are a Buck 118 and a Buck 110, both from the 1968 - 71 era. I will put a few more in the truck toolbox in a day or two - they'll be at least another Buck and probably a Schrade or a Case. OH
