All About Pocket Knives

I have what I think may be an old Marbles knife from my home state of Mich.
I would appreciate any help to ID, OTHER than the handle, which I think is rewrapped, is original or not. It seems to have a very short blade, but I really don't know.See pics: All helpful info appreciated.

Definitely a Marble's woodcraft model knife. Normal blade lengths run about 4 1/4" to 4 1/2" so the blade is a bit short. Can't really tell from the pictures if the handle is replaced or just worn leather washers. They made excellent using knives.

Thanks for your reply, and confirmation. It appears to me the handle has been wrapped with leather and then glued.
Is a knife such as this of any value? Do you know the approx. date of it?
How should I care for or do to it, if anything?

The blade is too pitted to be of any real value so it's a great knife to try your hand a "restoring". I can't tell if the handle is wrapped with tape or just deteriorated stacked leather. They were made with leather washers slipped onto a tang and the pummel is a nut holding them tight. Usually you can poke a needle nose pliers into the screwdriver slot to turn off the round screw enough to use a regular screwdriver and remove the pummel and washers. Then replace the washers with new leather rectangular ones bigger than you want the handle to be and with holes cut in them to slide them unto the tang and put it back together again. Sand or file off the leather edges round, smooth it out and finish it with some shoe polish and it'll look like new, except for the pits in the blade. I'd just sharped it up and use it with all it's character added._____Dave
