Can anyone ID this knife?

Is it a Military/Theatre knife? Or China fantasy junk? The tang stamp GMH?
Interesting knife. Never seen one like it before, but it looks like it was made to be a weapon. One can use the saw easily enough since the D-guard faces the same direction, but this makes using the knife to cut something awkward unless the blade is positioned under whatever is being cut. The blade appears better suited for stabbing than cutting. It crossed my mind that it may be a specialized tool knife, but the fact that the D-guard has knuckles on it makes me think it was meant to be used in combat.
If I had to venture a guess, I'd lean more towards it being either a homemade knife or a knife modified for combat. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will stop by with the answer.
