All About Pocket Knives

Going to a knife show and meeting old friends is great fun. Buying and selling knives is also great but to me the most fun I have a knife show is buying old battered and broken knives that have the potential to be rebuilt and refurbished.

I know there are not many people even on AAPK that would appreciate these like I do, but the few of you that do appreciate them hang out in the Knife Repair & Restoration forum!

Here are some gems I picked up at the OKCA show last weekend to be completed at some future date.

The knife that excites me the most is this A.W. Wadsworth & Son fish knife.
It has a full sabre ground blade and beautiful shell bolsters. The only thing wrong with it was the off gassing celluloid.

I think it will be a fun restoration!

Here are a couple more from Germany. The bartender's knife is stamped FK DE BARY/& Co and MADE IN GERMANY on the rear.
The bone handled mid lock is stamped J DIRLAM & SONS/SOLINGEN GERMANY (1910-1930, per John Goins)

I am sure looking forward to restoring them!

Here are some other project knives I got at the show:
The upper left is a KEEN BLADE.
The stag equal end is stamped VEDERASCO.
The camp knife is a STANDARD KNIFE CO. and the bottom right is a WARDS.
Of course the upper right Cub Scout knife is a Camillus.

Does anyone know anything about the VEDERASCO? It isn't in Goins.

I think I have a Dirlam,pretty sure it has a very similar or the same bolster,but it's wood handled My books and knives are not available to me now

that fish knife is sweet, nice bolsters on that one.

Yep, That Wadsworth is one cool tool!

I really like those first 3. The Wadsworth, what great bolsters!

And that bartenders knife, I love the lines on it, and how the NS runs up to the corkscrew, should be a great mod!
