All About Pocket Knives

I've collected the model 24 schrade lately and I have managed to getthe 124UH the 123OT and the scrim all NIB w/ papers. I was just wondering what production numbers were, how long they were offered, all the usual juicy details Thanks in advanced

Hey Musky. This pattern is Larrys favorite so he can tell you all the dates ect. Dale also likes this style and I am sure they both will cover it better than me. This stuff is to new for me ( just kidding er sort of) any way you also have to acquire a Lady Liberty limited edition which was both etched and made in real jigged bone. The other one in the pics I am attaching is a proto out of R+D ( research and development ). They just made this one and it was to comopete wuith some issue made by Case any way they did not like it and never produced it. I have shown these before. But thought you might enjoy the pics oh yes the photo is a company pic Schrade used to show customers. LT

Many days I carry my 124UH. that I have put a one armed bandit on the blade. What a unique little knife, the looks of the big traditional folding hunter in pocket carry size. LT, does Canal street offer a version of this knife?

Not yet but they do have some amazing stuff on the drawing board. I am glad Randy likes this knife I got it for him. I get a kick watching them finish up knives special when i go up there. Have to go back this week. Dave found an old piece of memorbilia for me. Like I would miss that . LT

Found it in a box of R&D stuff I was going to cannabalize the pieces when Frank Giorgianni saw it and said i thought you went ga ga for protos well this one is a dandy . Turns out it was made to compete with a Case issue but they never went through with it. Frank remembered it and I had all the pieces so a little bit of history saved. LT

I was up at Canal Street last week and they were going full tilt on the new Bowie Hunter and canittlers . I saw Mr Swindens work table but unfortunately he was in well deserved retirement mode that day.

LT, tell your friends at Canal Street street that they need to make a five inch toothpick, handled in PEARL. No, sorry, we can't make you our forum begger for whatever patterns we collect.

I hope one of the Cannitlers they are working on is the Wolverine knife club pearl handled knives that LRV and I are waiting on.

You're Wolverines were just about done. I saw about twenty of them in a box (that pearl looks nice!), waiting to have the bolsters numbered. I believe the numbering was all they had left to do.

Thanks for the update on the Wolverine. Seems like a year has gone by since we ordered these. I'll post what info I have in the 24's tonight. Its been a busy family weekend.

The 123OT & 124UH were 1st sdvertised in 1985 as the Pioneer and Maverick. They were in productin in 84 but unadvertised. In 1986 the 124UH Maverick was renamed to Tradesman.
In 1987 the SC524 Badger Scrim and 1988 a SC524 with 2 bears.
I dont see any in 1989 or after..

well, LT burst my bubble when he said I had to find a liberty one. almost forgot about them when dad gave this for graduation today, now I got them all, except for LT's proto R&D knife.

I wouldn't mind seeing a blow up of the backspring file work and the bolster work on that Fancy OT there thawk. I always love to look at new stuff and new styles. Keeps everything refreshing. Thanks, I hope you can do!

I too would like to see closeups of the bolster work and filework. I always enjoy seeing new work. Bolster work is something I have yet to do much of yet which I think will have to try soon.
