POSSIBLY FRENCH WW1 JOFFRE KNIFE? HELP???

I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE OF THESE AND COULD USE SOME HELP. IS IT FRENCH? IT HAS A PICTURE OF JOFFRE ON THE BLADE. IM NOT SEEING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WW1?IT IS ABOUT 6 AND 3/4 IN. LONG. BONE HANDLE OR HORN. VERY UNUSUAL KNIFE. ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED. DO YOU THINK IT IS RARE AND VALUABLE?

I checked the French web site of maker's marks and didn't see that one listed. It is what is commonly called a navaja and the handle is usually one piece of horn that is cut to accept the blade. Not sure if yours is horn or wood. I have several of them and they are nicely made although I don't know how valuable they are. Here is the web site if you would like to peruse it. It is in French but the maker's marks area has an English translation next to it.

THANKS FOR THE HELP. ITS MADE OF HORN. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE COMMON.

You beat me to it Lawrence. The Okapi was first made in Germany for their colonies in Africa.
