All About Pocket Knives

Found this fixed blade,while rambling in some old fishing tackle in my shed___

From my research, this was a ""K-Mart"" house brand knife, from back in the 80's ?? Very well made in Japan fixed blade ,440C Stainless blade,brass bolster, with Rosewood handles & leather sheath -- polished up nice and appears to have never been used or sharpened** don't have a clue,when or where I acquired this knife ? the tackle box, ( an old pot belly type ) I have had since back in the mid/late 70's *** haven't used the box since then** you just never know,what you will find,rambling in __ ""your own junk"" !!! ____________ have a great day,my friends**______________Monk

Man I'd love to "find" and old knife somewhere in my junk closet. Looks good to me!!

It is interesting to find a knife or tool that has been laid away for decades. I do not remember the Sharp brand though I was a frequent K-Mart shopper in the seventies. You must have put that knife/tackle box away very dry for the knife and sheath to still be in such good condition.

It had been in the sheath all these years and was a little "green" around the brass areas** snaps on the sheath were too** __ but yes,it did always stay in a covered shed in the closed tackle box** __also found some lures, I haven't used in quite awhile also ( Hellbenders & Rebel Super R's )__ may have to try them out this spring, too !!

I have the identical knife that I bought new from K-Mart many years ago. As I recall the price was $22 and it is a very good quality knife. Great find!

Here is a Sharp I bought at K mark when I was in High school Somewhere I have a matching lockback ::shrug::She keep a keen edge.

Very nice find Monk - that is a nice looking fixed blade and at a bargain price too (heck, you got the tackle box and lures for free!) I remember the Sharp brand knife display at our local K-Mart - it was as big as the ones in the hardware stores and had a lot of slip-joint patterns as well. Here is the only one I own, a 3" Swell-end Jack - decent little knife, about equal in quality to an Imperial solid bolster or Colonial Ranger of the same era. OH
