Hello, Everyone. I'm brand new here and also to posting in forums in general. So if I happen to do anything or say anything I'm not suppose to I apologize in advance. My father was an avid collector of gun and knives. I chose to just stick with the guns. I have had his collection of knives that consist of various makers. Case, Buck, Gerber, Kissing Crane, Sharp, Boker, Al-Mar etc. Since I am not well versed on the rarity and value of the collection I have i hope some of you may guide me somewhat. Most of all maybe make some friends along the way. I have enclosed a few photos that look so un organized its really embarrassing. That is why i named this one "Name that Knife". If you see anything that jumps out at you please let me know and this is also to show you what I have on hand. Thank you for your time, folks.

If each knife was shown individually, many of us here could identify & impart some information on nearly every knife in those pictures.
If anyone here lives near you, the knives could be sorted out with a visit.
I 'feel' for you, but not that much. I have over 10,000 knives for my children to try to figure out when i die. I feel for my children.

That's quite a menagerie! Enlarging your pictures, looks like there are some real prizes in the pile.

Joe, just give them my email and phone number. I'd be more than happy to help your surviving family members sort out the remains of your collection.
They can handle your remains by themselves.
You know I'm teasing...........

I see at least six nice Buck sheaths there - put a clear picture of the knives alongside the appropriate sheath in the Buck sub-forum and I will do my best to tell you what they are and approximately when they were made - then you can check out e-bay for what they are going for now. Welcome to AAPK. OH

Welcome to AAPK
Other than the Buck fixed blades I see what looks like a few early Gerber fixed blades and maybe an early S&W too. Nice looking Case stag handle fixed blade. Also what looks like 2 early folding ivory micarta handled Al Mars. Some nice looking Gerber, Buck and Case folders too. Those are some of the names that will have the most value.
Nice looking pile-o-knives Colt_Diamondback81.

Welcome to AAPK! Like others have said, hard to tell much from the group pictures. If you put them into smaller sets of 6 or 8, in a line left to right or top to bottom, and get a good clear picture of each set, there's folks here that can give you a hand. Some of them will then probably need more detailed pictures, with blades open so the tangs can be seen, but those can be singled out from the pics of each set. Don't worry about multiple posts - we enjoy looking at and discussing knives. From what little I can tell, there's surely some goodies in the bunch.
Somebody may have a better approach.

If you are looking to sell all of these, there are a few options. There are people out there that buy entire collections for 50-60% of their value, and then they separate them all out and sell them 1 at a time to make their profit.
The other option is for you to do a lot of research and homework to get an idea of what each knife is, and what it's value is, and then sell them yourself 1 at a time. You'll make more money doing it this way, but you'll have a ton of time invested into it also.
