All About Pocket Knives

Hi, some here already know me from bladeforums using the same name and before that as "rprocter".
I have had an interest & fascination with knives going back to my early boyhood days in Montreal.
By the time the internet arrived i had an accumulation of about 100 knives. Now about 10 years into the internet for me and i have learned a great deal about knives and my interest in knives has become an obsession and my 'accumulation' has grown 100 times.
Main interests are vintage: USA, British & German folding knives.
I'm a retired MD and live in the Kootenay Lake valley in south central B.C. Fortunately i have a USA address for receiving knives. You cannot play 'knives' on ebay with only a Canadian shipping address.
My health is not so good and none of my 4 children care much for this fine hobby so i'm happy to pass along (sell) any knife that i post here. I hope it breaks no rules to have said that.

Wow, thanks for this kind reception. It's so nice to feel welcome.
I did not join primarily to sell knives. I joined because i love knives and collecting is so much more enjoyable when i can post pics and ask questions about knives and chat with others about their knives.
One of the best things about 'knives' is there is always more to learn, so it never gets boring.
I need outside light to take knife pics and in winter here daylight is short and most days have snow or rain, but i'll be taking knife pictures as soon as the weather permits.

Lyle, i only found a small Wostenholm Farmer's Jack, rough black handles and almost no snap on worn master blade. Not a great example. I think i have 1 or 2 other Wost. FJ's. I will post pics when i find them.

Wow, Thank you. these welcomes are coming at a time when i need them. I'm hoping for lots of knife discussion here. There is so much yet to learn, which is why it's never boring.

I think the "he has a lot of knowledge" should actually say "he has a lot to learn".
I love the learning, it makes the knives meaningful. I especially enjoy "who made what for whom and when ?" "Forensic Knifeology" which includes ID'ing 're-works'.
And there is always so much more to learn that it never gets boring.

Thanks peanut. I like the little welcome guy waving to me ! One of my biggest joys is learning more about knives, any kind, so i'll be asking lots of questions and when i post some info that is wrong i want to be corrected. So, don't hold back !

I have never had this amount of welcoming at any time in the last 69 years. Likely it's even more than when i was born !

I've just had a great experience buying Fight'n Roosters from Roland. I ordered six and seven knives showed up. He gifted one for no other reason than he is a great guy. He followed up the shipment with an email to see if I was satisfied and offered to allow me to return any if I wanted to. Great to have him on AAPK.
