Hello, AAPK!

Hi, all -- after lurking here for a short while, I signed up a few days ago. The short version of the story is that I got interested in learning to whittle as a new hobby for the new year, and did a pretty good job of not going overboard with buying gear for that...just a glove, thumb guard, and an inexpensive Murphy bench knife to get started.

But, of course, I thought it would be nice to have a knife that was a little more portable. So I got a new Case 6344 CV in dark red bone. Then a 6339 CV in chestnut bone because I wanted one with a spey blade in place of the pen blade. And an Opinel #6 because I came across their knives while reading about others and loved their beautiful simplicity. And there should be a nice '65-'69 Case 5332 arriving soon, because I wanted one good knife that was approximately as old as I am.

So, yeah...I seem to have caught the bug, but I'm enjoying it and I'm looking forward to being part of the fun around here. :)

Welcome!

And so it begins...:) 4 knives already and you haven't even obtained a "whittler" pattern yet (lol). Every knife maker has several whittler patterns (Case 6380 is an example). Let us know when you do cross the "overboard" threshold.

Welcome to AAPK! It does sound like you've got the bug. You sure won't get cured here! This place is sorta like the Lepers Colony. ::facepalm::  The infected come here to live together. But we like it! Post some pics of what you've got so far. ::tu::
