OLD CASE

I have this old Case knife and after reading the post of how to re-handle a knife i've been inspired to give it a shot. I found this knife 15 years ago on the side of the road while sitting at a red light. It's old and has been USED almost up  I can not find a pattern # and I don't see the word Muskrat on it anywhere. The only thing I can see on the main blade tang is Case XX, No USA or anything else. First I need to know if anyone can tell me what pattern it is , second I need to know if I can find blades for this time period (which I believe to be '40 - '64). I have a few sets of Deer Antlers and would like to use that for the handle material. But since it's my first time trying it , i'm wondering if maybe I should use wood.

That looks like a 44 to me,I have 2 of them from about that same period, the smaller blade is a pen.You can find them pretty cheap on ebay if your looking for blades.
