All About Pocket Knives

A little rough I know..and well worn..but if it turns out to be something decent I'll have it fixed.
No Stampings at all,Main Blade has a Match strike pull,Bone is fairly thick.
4 1/16 closed
Doesn't seem to be Japanese(sabre) cause it weighs a little..but who knows

Uncommon to see a short pull match striker on an old knife, Master blade has no choil. I'm thinking the master could be a homemade retrofit, made from a file. The match striker looks like a file pattern. That might also explain no makers mark.

The swedge on the master blade loss A LOT like the swedge on a Western. More specifically the master on a Western 742. I can't explain why it doesn't have a choil.

The jigging is pretty worn, but the color is also reminiscent of the old Western oatmeal colored bone.

Wayne could be right, redo of a favorite old Western knife.

I'm no expert..(maybe in 100 years!) But..Looking at it closer,I'd say the only reason to suspect a
homemade type Blade is the absence of a choil and maybe the shortness of the pull.
If someone made it.they did a decent job and it was done a long time ago.
The Blade functions well and meets the Springs about the same as the other,
it'd be nice if it were a Western.

I'd definitely bring it home. I like those discount bin knives. There's some real gems in there sometimes. The old Western stamps are faint sometimes too, easy to wear off. I like it.

I didn't know that about the Stampings on Westerns.

I'm far from an expert on this or any other knife but when I first looked at it, Western was what popped into my mind.

yeah Phil..I looked at one on Ebay and it's a pretty good match.
