....camillus #88??........

....just noticed on ebay a Camillus #88 stockman, 4 1/4" closed,staglon handles,appears to be identical to a #89 except the primary blade has the sword brand etch....anyone ever seen one of these before??.............. ::shrug:: ..............

If memory serves, the difference is the #88 has a locking mechanism on the handle whereas the #89 does not.

Also, blades on 88 are stainless, those on 89 are not.

Happened to talk with Wallace Rockwell this morning and, if I understood correctly, it's possible some of the early 88's were not stainless. He said if it says "stainless" on a blade, the blades are definitely stainless. Haven't had a chance to see what mine says.
