All About Pocket Knives

These imperial counter top displays are still pretty cheap compared to others so I picked one up when I could. Did a little research and figured what knives where originally in it, and I'm part way to tracking them all down. If I'd been looking when first started collecting I think I could've filled the thing five times over for $30 now that I'm searching them out mint imperials sure seem to be getting harder to find and fetching higher prices.

Very nice!..Love those Jackmaster boxes...I used to come across many Imperials but as You say,they are getting hard to find...and there were millions of them made!.
At one time Imperial was the largest Maker in the World .if I'm not mistaken.

Thank you so much everyone! I honestly wasn't sure if anyone would share my enthusiasm for these more affordable old knives, I really appreciate all the kind comments I will certainly post more when it is done. Here's a closer shot in the meantime

Your Imperial display pushes all the right nostalgia buttons - i think remembering your better days and youthful days is part of what makes knife collecting the fun it is - grabbing a tangible piece of the past. Very nice display! OH

Look at all the common place things that will perk your memory in this picture from late December in 1964. This hardware/auto parts store sold the new license plates each year in our community - look behind her, she has a card for Imperial Barlow Knives, Winchester and Remington shotshells, and other neat stuff. We took it all for granted, nothing remarkable, except now we chase after parts of it. OH

And a pack of smokes for 20 cents, plus tax of course. Neat old photo OH.

Nice old knives, I really think that these inexpensive old knives are a really interesting collecting pursuit.

You get all the excitement of the hunt at a fraction of the cost. The only pitfall is you really have to watch shipping costs since they become such a large proportion of the cost.

You got that right msteele6 .Some of these ebayers are sure proud of their bubble wrap and cardboard.

I saw a Beanie Baby on eBay that sold for a Buy it Now of $1.99 with a shipping cost of $6,500.00. Seller gave some lame excuse about only being able to list a certain amount per month.

Go figure.

Nice display piece! Do you know which pieces you need to fill out the card? Perhaps if you posted pictures of the ones you need the members here could help you out.

Thank you folks, this is a good look back at the 50' and 60's, I found my display listed in the 1963 catalog on the Schrades R US website so I suppose they made them for the years around then.

I was able to find some photos of the ones I still need to fill it out.

Standard Kamp-King (not hard to find, but harder in really good condition)

slim serpentine jack with pearl handles
slim tuxedo/swell center
