A Remington Scout Knife - With a Story

I bid on this one but did not win it. The original owner and his son, the scout knife passed on from father to son.

Looks like the main blade is a replacement , probably made from a file .

Someone did a hell of a good job of making that main blade and fitting it in the knife.That is way cool.Thanks Steve for sharing.

Bob; great observation! It is a good job. I thought it was the original blade and I was puzzled by the file marks but that explains it.
Makes the knife even more interesting.

I don't understand it either. Some of my most prized possessions are old tools that belonged to my grandfather, my dad, my father-in-law, and uncles. Some of them are in my shop and still used often, and I think of the owner every time I use that tool.
